Like Obasanjo like Buhari

In his first days in office as a military dictator in 1984, Gen. Buhari severally claimed that his administration was an offshoot of the Murtala/Obasanjo regime. That was until an infuriated Obasanjo came out to denounce any relationship between him and the new regime. In his second coming as Nigerian leader, Buhari, now a more matured man is not expected to walk in the image of another man as every indication is that he intends to answer his own name. But the similarities between the political adventures of Obasanjo and Buhari are real. The post Like Obasanjo like Buhari appeared first on Van

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday advised the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, not to restrict any probe he would want to carry out to his administration alone. Amaechi’s lessons at 50

The choice of Amaechi to lead the presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress, APC was indeed helped by his own past struggles in the trenches outside government. Even in government, his populist crusades for the enthronement of an egalitarian society that have seen rich and poor in Rivers State access the same standards of education and healthcare were indicators of a rebel in Government House. Reps Speaker: The quest by Northern minorities

It is no longer news that the 2015 general elections has united Nigerians especially northerners, who had never voted in the same pattern. For the first time since independence, northern Christians and Muslims voted perhaps for the same party and presidential candidate. Some of us (northern Muslims) had given up hope of seeing a united north as envisioned by the late sage, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto. However, the 2015 elections has rekindled our hope that in our life time, Sardauna‘s dreams is a reality. The post Reps Speaker: The quest by Northern minorities appeared first on

Deputy Gov: Ezeilo in Enugu

Created in 1991, Enugu State has never had a woman occupy the exalted office of governor or deputy governor, the two top positions in the state that have essentially been dominated by men who relegated women to the background. A technology driven Nigeria in Uwaje’s world view

Known widely as the oracle of the Nigerian Information and Communication Technology, ICT sector, immediate past President of the Indigenous Software Practitioners of Nigeria, ISPON, Mr. Chris Uwaje has never been afraid of setting high targets for himself. His ideas of technology implementation in a society, particularly in Nigeria, at first, sound utopian. They hardly simmer down well to the ordinary mind. But at the end his blue prints become the pillar of sustainable national strategy. The post A technology driven Nigeria in Uwaje’s world view appeared first on Vanguard News....
